Educational Background:
B.A. in Elementary Education (Drury University), M. Ed. from UMKC
Sandi began teaching in 1994. She taught 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades before deciding to stay home with her daughters. Her most recent professional experiences are substitute teaching at St. Paul’s and supervising student teachers for Rockhurst University.
Sandi is excited to join the St. Paul’s kindergarten faculty. She loves the honest enthusiasm and curiosity of young children. Since her daughters have attended St. Paul’s, she has been inspired by the atmosphere, the balance between nurture and challenge, and the projects all around. She sees St. Paul’s as a school where teachers are encouraged to use their knowledge, expertise and creativity to meet all students where they are and take them as far as they can go.
Sandi enjoys spending time with her husband, Allen, their two daughters Allie and Mollie, and their dog, August. Some favorite family activities are game nights, cooking, leisurely deck nights, anything snow related, playing basketball, eating sushi, and traveling to the mountains. She has passions for reading and writing children’s literature, creative arts and swimming.
