Carey’s teaching career began in 1996 in the Olathe School District where she taught 4th grade her first year and then went on to teach 3rd grade for 13 years and finished this past year in 1st grade. The past five years she worked in a job share position so she could balance her time at home with her two young children, Ella and Caden. Her education includes a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, and an M.A. in Psychology from St. Mary’s University.

Now that both her children are in school every day, she is ready to be back in the classroom full-time! Since enrolling her daughter here at St. Paul’s three years ago, Carey has enjoyed seeing the wonderful family spirit, dedication, and love each staff member displays for his/her profession. She is so excited to be a part of such a great team!

In her free time Carey enjoys reading, boating on the lake where she lives, watching her children in their various activities and dancing.
