It was the end of May, 2009, and Chris had just retired from the Blue Springs School District after having spent 31 years in public education. She saw the St. Paul's job posting and decided to see if it was still available. Unable to resist the pull to stay in teaching and the very positive interactions with the faculty at St. Paul's, she signed a contract a week later.
St. Paul's is a long way from her first teaching job in 1978 in a two-room school house in central Nebraska. Chris has taught in the Stockton, Ray-Pec and Blue Springs school districts. Chris's main focus has been middle school math since 1988. As a member of the Missouri Math Academy, she has been a consultant/trainer in professional development for middle level math educators.
Chris's family includes her husband, Larry, six grown children (including in-laws) and two granddaughters.
