St. Paul's Auction

GAME ON!

The 2012 St. Paul’s Auction will be held at the School on Saturday, April 14.  Please save the date!  The Auction will consist of a silent auction, followed by a seated dinner and exciting live auction in the School gymnasium.

View the official Auction website here.

What is the Auction?

The annual Auction is the largest fundraiser organized by the School’s Parents’ Guild.  The primary goals are to:

1.     Raise money for the School.

2.     Provide a venue for parents, teachers, administrators and Church members to come together and celebrate our School community and the education of our children.

3.     Increase exposure and provide goodwill for our School and Church in the community.

Where do the funds go?

Money generated from the Auction goes directly to the School’s operating budget where it is most needed.  Last year the Auction was able to provide $175,000 in unrestricted funds to the School.  In addition, the Auction raises funds earmarked to support a specific need identified by the School.  Last year, almost $27,000 was raised to purchase iPads for the use of our students and teachers in the classroom.  This year’s Fund-a-Need will be announced several months prior to the Auction.

Who coordinates and organizes the Auction?

The Auction Committee plans the Auction but our parents, teachers and community members volunteer their time in countless ways to make this important fundraiser a success.

What is the Auction Kick-off Party?

“Game Night” is this year's Auction Kick-off Party that will be held on Saturday, January 28, at the home of Dave and Krista Peterson.  This party, also known as the Gift Gathering Party, is a huge celebration for all community members, to generate excitement about the “Game On!” Auction, and will feature food, drinks and "games" of all kinds for attendees to play and enjoy watching.  We will collect items and cash donations at the party that will go toward underwriting the Auction.

How can I help with the 2012 Auction?

All contributions to the Auction are important in making it a success!

1.     Make a donation.  Goods, services, experiences and cash donations all are needed for the Auction.  Donated items and gift certificates from businesses are very important but there are many ways to contribute!

a.      Can you make a cash donation to help underwrite the event?  Cash donations, large and small, from parents, businesses and foundations will be solicited in 2012 and will be encouraged at the “Game Night” Party.

b.     Do you have any items of value (e.g., sporting event or suite tickets, vacation home, etc.) that you can donate to be sold at the Auction?

c.      Can you perform a service (e.g., cook a gourmet meal, plan a party, paint a room, babysit or provide computer consulting)?

d.     Can you build or make something?

2.     Volunteer your time.  Many volunteers are needed to make the Auction a success.  We welcome every family at the School to help in some way.  We have big and small jobs and you can offer to help solicit businesses or serve on one of many committees.  In addition, we need numerous volunteers in the weeks leading up to, and at the Auction itself, including set-up, cashiers, check-in, runners, clean-up, etc.

3.     Purchase advertising in our Auction catalog.  Advertising can be great exposure to local businesses.  Families and groups (sports teams, Brownies, service clubs) can also purchase advertisements to show their support for our School, at a discounted rate.  The Auction catalog will describe all of the items for sale at the Auction, highlight our underwriters and donors, and feature advertisers.  Catalogs will be made available a few weeks before the Auction.

4.     Attend the Auction and bid!  Tickets to the Auction will be available for purchase in advance.  Tickets cover costs associated with the event including dinner and rentals.  Proceeds from items that you purchase the night of the Auction directly benefit the school!
