St. Paul's School

Facilities

Early Childhood HallwaySt. Paul's Episcopal Church and Day School occupy one full city block at 4101 Main St. in Kansas City, MO., with the church at the north end of the parking lot.  The school consists of two buildings connected by an enclosed hallway, four playgrounds, and a large playing field east of the school, across Walnut St.  The two school buildings provide almost 80,000 square feet of educational space for the 470 students who attend the school.  The north wing, opened in January of 2009, is the early childhood portion, for toddler through kindergarten students, and it houses the cafeteria and multipurpose room for the whole school.  The south wing, opened in September of 1994, provides the classrooms for first through eighth graders, and the gymnasium and library for all the students.

Classrooms in both wings center around a commons area on each floor that is used for morning chapel services, guest speakers, integrated thematic units, small group student work, and the display of children's art and classwork.  Renovated art, music and foreign language rooms provide space for students to move, create, and practice.  A computer lab, computers in the library and classrooms, SmartBoard and e-Beam technology in many classrooms, and two laptop carts and one iPad cart provide technology for teachers and students throughout both buildings.

On Fridays, all students and faculty attend a chapel service in the church, led by our chaplain, church clergy and 8th grade leadership team.  Other school meetings and receptions are held in the church, as the church continues to generously shares its facilities with the school.
