Hallie Bodamer, class of 2011, stopped by middle school to share insight into her educational path and her new career as a lawyer. She also had some great advice for students as they get ready to head off to high school!
Hallie graduated from Pembroke Hill School in 2015 and then received her BA in Economics and Communications from Wake Forest University in 2019. She then attended the University of Colorado’s Law School in Boulder and graduated this past spring. Hallie is now an Associate Attorney at Graves Garrett LLC.
Hallie shared that she loves her work as a lawyer because she does plenty of problem-solving, learns new things every day, and most importantly, she helps people navigate some of the most formidable times in their lives.
When looking back on her time at St. Paul’s, Hallie appreciates how her middle school English classes developed her love of reading and writing which ultimately set her on a path to law school. She’s also grateful for how St. Paul’s emphasized the importance of service. “St. Paul’s certainly instills in its students the importance of helping others and reminds them that they’re capable of kindness and service,” Hallie noted.
When asked if she has any advice for current St. Paul’s middle school students, Hallie shared, “Be present! Our most valuable resource is time, and as we grow up, we find we only have less and less of it. So try to be present. Enjoy where you are and the people you’re with.”
We are grateful to Hallie for stopping by St. Paul’s and for being such a positive role model for our students!
