Full Circle: Welcoming Back the Class of 2022!

Last week, we welcomed back a special group to campus—the St. Paul’s Class of 2022—for a Senior Breakfast. Before they graduate from high school, these alumni returned to St. Pauls, reconnected with classmates, visited with former teachers, and shared what's next.

Seniors caught up with one another and shared about their high school experiences in different schools across the Kansas City metro including Pembroke Hill School, Rockhurst High School, St. Teresa's Academy, Lincoln Prep Academy, North Kansas City High School, Shawnee Mission East High School, and more. Faculty and staff loved hearing about their next steps—ranging from college plans to travel adventures and summer jobs—as they prepare for this exciting new chapter.

After breakfast, our seniors joined the middle school for chapel, where they offered thoughtful and honest advice to current students. Their reflections provided a  glimpse into the high school experience—and their words spoke for themselves:

“Don’t worry too much about being academically prepared—St. Paul’s will have you ready. Focus more on getting involved.”

“Have an open mind socially. Meet new people and give everyone a chance before forming opinions.”

“Going from a class of 30 to a school of 600 was scary—but you will find your group. You’ll find your people.”

“Use the resources around you. Talk to your teachers, advocate for yourself, and manage your time wisely.”

“When you’re studying, do a little bit each night leading up to a big test—it makes a huge difference.”

“Try new things. I joined sports, activities, and even things I never expected—and I’m so proud I did.”

So where are these students headed next? For the students who are decided on college, they are all going to exciting places including Auburn University, University of Kansas, Wake Forest College, The US Naval Academy, and Princeton University (just to name a few!).

The visit concluded with a new tradition—photos of graduating seniors alongside their younger siblings who are currently at St. Paul’s. Seniors also stuck around to play some basketball with our graduating 8th grade class during PE class. What a wonderful way to celebrate the connections that are a big part of our strong St. Paul's community! Click here to see more pictures from the big day.

As we celebrate the Class of 2022 and all they have accomplished, we are reminded of the lifelong relationships and strong foundation that begin here. We are so proud of these students and can’t wait to see all they will achieve in the years ahead.
