St. Paul's Begins Fall Food Drive and Gathers Toy Donations

It's that time of year again! St. Paul's is working together to restock the church pantry in a time of unprecedented need. Read below to find out how classrooms can earn points throughout the drive!  In addition, the church is collecting Christmas stocking stuffers and toys for families who stop by the pantry during the holidays. Read below to find out more about the Food Drive logistics.

  • Each day students will bring their offerings to their grade level cohort.

  • 1st -5th grades and individual Middle School houses will earn points for their offerings. 

  • While all items will be received each day, BONUS POINTS will be given for selected items on selected days. 
  • Early Childhood classrooms are encouraged to participate in the drive but will not be part of the official competition.

On November 20th, the Lower School grade level with the highest number of points will proudly display the "St. Paul's Spirit Award" banner and receive a special treat to be determined later. The Middle School house with the highest points will also receive a treat!

Most Needed Items

  • Canned vegetables and fruit [15-16 oz. cans]: green beans, any canned beans, corn, any canned fruit, peas, spinach, tomatoes
  • Canned Meats: tuna (5-6 oz.), salmon or other canned fish (16 oz.), Vienna sausage, Spam, Corned beef
  • Canned soups/meals [15-16 oz. cans]: condensed and other canned soups, hearty soup meals, beef stew, Chili, Beanie-Weenies, Spaghetti-Os, canned pastas
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly [12-18 oz. jars], small sizes preferred
  • Pasta, Dry Beans, Rice: mac ‘n cheese, spaghetti/ pasta noodles (16 oz.), Ramen, Hamburger Helper, dry beans (15-16 oz.), rice (15-16 oz) 
  • Box or Packaged Cereal
  • Personal Hygiene Items: adult Depends sizes M, L, and XL, disposable razors, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant, lotion, bar soap (small sizes preferred)
  • Home Products: toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish detergent (small sizes preferred)

Bonus Points
Students can earn extra points for their grade level by bringing in the items below.

Thursday, Nov. 12:  Triple points for canned vegetables, beans, and fruits

Friday, Nov. 13:  Double points for canned meats (5 extra points if student is in spirit wear!)

Monday, Nov. 16:  Double points for canned soups and meals (chili, beanie-weenies, pasta, etc.)

Tuesday, Nov. 17:  Double points for peanut butter and jelly 

Wednesday, Nov. 18:  Double points for pasta, dry beans, rice, and Hamburger Helper

Thursday, Nov. 19:  Triple points for box or packaged cereal

Friday, Nov. 20:  Double points for toilet paper (counted by roll), Depends, and personal hygiene items, 10 points per regular-sized bottle or box of laundry detergent or dish detergent

 

Toys & Stocking Stuffers

Food pantry clients will have the opportunity to select a toy or gift item for the children in their household, including infants through teenagers. Students can donate gender-neutral stocking stuffers that can be pre-bagged and gifts for children and teens.

Some of the suggested items for stocking stuffers include:

  • Silly putty
  • Small games
  • Holiday pencils and erasers
  • Candy

For gifts:

  • Bluetooth headphones and accessories
  • Chiefs items
  • Legos
  • Any toy your child would enjoy, another child will too!
