Service Learning Accomplishments at St. Paul's Episcopal Day School
At St. Paul's Episcopal Day School, we believe that service to others is at the heart of our mission. This past quarter, our students, families, and faculty have come together to make a powerful impact in our local community through a variety of service learning projects. We are proud to share some of these incredible accomplishments:
-
Annual Food Drive: Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we were able to donate over 1,600 items to the St. Paul's church pantry. These donations included essential items such as diapers, canned goods, and children's socks, all of which will help support families in need throughout the Kansas City area.
-
1st Grade Fundraiser for Variety KC: Our 1st grade students displayed tremendous compassion and initiative by raising more than $1,400 for Variety KC, an organization that provides adaptive equipment for children with disabilities. Through their creative fundraising efforts (e.g. a candy guessing jar, doing extra chores for money, etc.) they have made a tangible difference for a non-profit organization doing great work in our community.
-
5th Grade Donation to KC Pet Project: As part of their ongoing commitment to community service, our 5th-grade students recently collected and donated much-needed supplies to KC Pet Project, an organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in need. Their generous contribution will help support the organization’s mission to provide a safe and loving environment for pets awaiting adoption.
These projects are just a few examples of how our students and their families are making a lasting difference in Kansas City. We are grateful for the continued support from alumni, parents, grandparents, and faculty who help us foster a culture of service at St. Paul's. Together, we are teaching our students the importance of giving back and making an impact in the world around us.
