In August 2018, we opened the doors to Phase One of our Invest in Learning. Invest in Leaders. campaign.
Today, you can find students exploring coding in the new makerspace, creating water color art with a professional artist in the upgraded art room, using vernier probes in the expanded science lab, building camaraderie in the pitch space, and so much more. The renovated spaces are exceeding expectations as our teachers use them to expand our students' abilities to ask good questions, test hypotheses, and find solutions to engaging problems.
"I love the resources the spaces offer us. I've really enjoyed the open maker space hours where students work on specific design challenges or their own passion projects. So far this year, we've worked on 3-d printing, circuitry, engineering, coding, and more. It brings increased voice and choice for the student, which is very powerful for their learning." – Maeve O'Connor, sixth grade science teacher and innovation leader
Now, we work to bring these transformative learning spaces to the lower grades, too. Our Middle School faculty utilize our new flexible learning hubs and common spaces all day every day – harnessing the power of small group learning in spaces designed to foster collaboration. Our younger kids deserve the same opportunity.
“We have watched the Phase One renovation inspire student learning with its student-centered commons and flex-hub, collaborative break-out rooms, and open classrooms. For Phase Two, we are excited to create a space that reflects the creativity and unique needs of our younger students. The renovations will allow our dynamic curriculum to shine and spark a lifelong love of learning in our younger students.” – Mindy Stephenson, Toddler - 2nd Grade Division Head
Our Summer 2019 renovations will bring this vision to the entire St. Paul’s school community. But we can’t do it without your help. Learn more about Phase Two.
